Putting hands on tank.

Is putting hands on your tank bad? I’m always adjusting rock work placing new corals into my tank. Is this harmful for my tank?
Nope I have to put my hands in my tank daily to fix knocked over frags, add nori sheets for my tangs ect… only thing thats bad is if you have poisonous, venomous or fish that bite and you get stung or bit! But for the tank itself no harm, just make sure youre not putting them in the tank when they are super dirty

Yeah I always make sure my hands are washed before putting them in. Sometimes clowns but big it is never a big problem

Or just wash them to attempt to ensure no contaminants are introduced. I fix cars everyday, my hands get dirty. I try only put clean hands in but sometimes they seem stained. Never any ill effects but at least I'm conscious about it

Lol yeah my old clown pair was evil before they passed. She was a nasty tempered fish

Yup. The female clown likes to protect the male.
Oh Im convinced this wasnt protecting the male… this one darted across a six foot tank and jumped out of the tank trying to bite me when I was no where near them!! Crazy fish.

Wow. Can fish have rabies?!?!?

If they can she was totally the fish who did lol! She was crazy. My maroons in my other tank are nice and calm but she was a psycho fish!

If you wash mechanic hands twice and they’re still dirty, I call that clean dirt. Good to go! :grinning-squinting-face:

Other than dealing w frags, the main structure is pretty much hands off. But if I have to to go in I use the dawn blue soap rinse well. Yes there is the reef arm, lol.

Putting hands on your tank is good, you have to keep your tank in check. If the tank ever puts hands on you though, you give us a call. We’ll put hands on your tank reef2reef strong.
