Whenever I change out the filter floss I get so many bubbles. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I get that there is so much air trapped in all the little nooks. But maybe there’s a trick to it? I’ve battled so hard and won the war with micro bubbles. These go away in a day or less. But having such an issue with my first new tank makes me sensitive to ever seeing them. So many hours of research to fix my problems. Thanks.

Guy who set up my tank for me recommended at the bottom of the filter here and on the right side. Goes through the floss before and after. There’s one of these on each side. Fluval 32g.

Hmmm...I've never that system but can't you dunk the filter floss in RODI or tank water to get the air bubbles out?

Yeah. That sounds so simple. But I didn’t think of it. And he never did it when he put it in there for me when he was doing maintenance during the first few weeks. Makes perfect sense. Seems like such a dumb question now. Thank you.

Tanks are a funny thing. Takes a bit getting used to. Wait till you meet your first back siphon.

Yeah. I’m about to do a setup and build it myself. This was my starter to make it a bit easier. But now all I want to do is build my own setup. I’m generally pretty handy. I’ll be taking it slow since I can still play with this tank. And do lots of research before I do anything. For now I’ve kind of jumped head first. And unlearning a lot this “expert” taught me. Was his fault I had micro bubbles in the first place. I found the issue. He tried to correct it unsuccessfully. I did it myself. For anybody reading this who hasn’t had the experience yet. And plenty probably have. Just because you own a fish store doesn’t mean you know how to maintain a healthy tank. Thanks again for the help.
