I have a question, my oldest grandson came over today with a surprise. He said "Grammy Grammy I got you something special for your new tank. " well i he placed in my hand this tiny skull with red crystal eyes. lol
so my question is can you put something like that in a saltwater tank? I know they are made for fresh water but I'd like to make my grandson happy for a least a week or too.

and then that brings me to the next question? what are the limits for putting things in a saltwater tank

I think it really depends of what the item is made out of, I know some people do keep decoration type items in SW tanks. #Reefsquad do you all know what can and can not go in a tank?

If I understand what you said.....this item was specifically made to be put in a freshwater tank.....than no problem putting it in saltwater.

But still post a picture, because I'm curious.

EDIT TO ADD:

I think I might have found it....might it be one of these?

I say make the kid happy and this way he'll love his Grammy! :D I think it would look pretty cool if you glue some star polyps on the top of the skull....hair!

I say put it in there and if it starts growing hair algae like crazy take it out. Definitely would be cool to have GSP hair lol.

So the I's have it, and I agree put it in the tank

A Chia Pet for the aquarium world...sounds marketable! I would say if it's made for aquarium use it would be safe in the salt. Make the little guy happy and go for it.

But now you have to promise to post a picture of the Chia Skull.

Yes that is the skull perfectly to a tee and he is a very excited seven-year-old because he thinks grandma's going to put it in the tank

Great place to start a zoa garden I have a skull also in my 75 gallon tank as well. I had eels and wanted something for him to go in then I got a ornamental castle to go in the tank as well.
