My qt tank is fully empty and I don't plan to use it for a while. I was thinking that I could put some live rock in there to make sure nothing bad comes out in my DT and burrows. I also don't know how great the live rock from the NC coast is

From what little I know, and have heard, the biggest problem would be that once a QT tank have been treated with Copper, the copper will always be in the live rock. SO, if you ever wanted to put back in the display tank, that would not be possible as it would leach copper out.

Is it a normal thing to do?
from what i've read/seen on r2r, some do this, some don't. i don't see any issue with QT'ing rock, however i'm not familiar with what methods are needed to properly QT live ocean/reef rock
