pvc and cpvp

So i have some Cpvp union ball valves... Can i buy and clue PVC pipes to it or should i buy all CPVP pipes/fittings/glue? It always looks like everyone is using regular pvc piping in their plumbing but the ball valves I find are all CPVC.

As far as I recall they are not interchangeable. CPVC is slightly smaller for each nominal size.
