This is a bit of a newbie question but I've never done it so I need to ask...
I need to cut my drain line and move a fitting, will gluing the drain line back together how long should I wait to turn the return pump on and will the glue harm the tank inhabitants?
Thanks for your advice!

I good rule of thumb is 30 minutes. The glue set up pretty quick and I have turned the system on sooner:rolleyes: There are a couple of type of glue, I use the quick set.

Ideally 24 hours for pvc to cure when pressure is a concern. In our systems, especially the drain, its not. As @jsker said 30 minutes is fine. I have glued and restarted a tank in less than 5 minutes with no issues (not saying I recommend that).

Sweet, sounds like a plan! I need to move a tee so I can do the final install on the new Turbo Aquatics L4 ATS and fire that bad boy up!
Thanks for the guidance! :)
Your welcome, let us know how it turns out

I've worked with a mechanical contractor (think of a plumber with a five year degree), who's told me that you can't turn the water on quick enough after gluing up a fitting to impact the glued fittings. The bond is virtually instantaneous. And the "glue" is not water miscible. And, to top it off, our systems are not pressurized. I've glued up fittings and had it in my tank within minutes and the only issue I've had is to net out any residual glue that hit the water, and was floating around. NO WAITING IS NECESSARY!!!

I just plumbed my new sump and after getting water in it and the firing it up, it was about 2 hours. But, you apply primer then glue, 1/4 turn and try and turn that 5 minutes later, it's not budging. Just wipe off excess if you can.

Tee cut out, moved and glued, waited an hour then fired it back up.
Used the Milwaukee 18volt Multi-tool to cut it out, I love that tool!
Got all the wiring for the new pump and lights on the new ATS ran and hooked up to the Apex.
Tomorrow after work I'll pull the reactor pump out, make the final plumbing connection of the reactors and ATS to the new pump. I had to get a larger pump to feed the GFO and Biopellet reactors along with the ATS. The plan is to run the ATS for a couple months then take the reactors off line.
Growing some grass in a box is the goal!!
Tomorrow night I'll post some pictures :)
