This past weekend I finally had time to redo my return line since I've had a new pump pushing 10lbs of poop through a 3lb tube, it was just silly and inefficient, my own fault.
Anyway I have run 1.25" from the pump straight up over the rim and back down using only 45s, roughly a 4.5-5ft run to underneath the water line where I want it. I used to have a VCA RFG that actually worked pretty well with the pump I was using, however, significantly less power than my new one. I really don't want to reduce the return at all, the flow coming out is incredible.. I just want to direct it a bit.
I can't seem to find anything that allows me to direct the water flow within the PVC itself. Think of Herbie drain with strainer.. only the other direction. I want to snug fit something right into my 1.25" PVC output pipe to either randomize or divert the flow in two directions a bit.
I thought of slicing into the PVC with a Dremel to fix something like plastic shutters on it so I could angle them that way water follows two possible directions. Does this make sense?
If anyone is willing to work with me 3D printing and testing this I'll gladly pay you along the way as we try different things.. anyone interested plz let me know
Thx for any thoughts or comments on this.
