I have a Red Sea Reefer 170. The return plumbing is split from the tank return and goes to a UV Sterilizer and 2 small reactors. There's air coming into the UV sterilizer but not in any of the other plumbing. There's only a foot and a half of plumbing or so but there's 2 90 degree elbows in there. I am guessing it's a venturi effect. It results in the sterilizer not filling up and air bubbles constantly coming out the return from the sterilizer to the sump.
Is this likely a venturi effect? Since there isn't air in any of the other equipment I assume it's after the ball valve leading to the sterilizer. I can see the air in the clear fitting leading into the sterilizer.
What's the proper way to fix it? It wouldn't be hard to put silicone on the outside of the fittings. I don't know how easy it would be to unglue it and redo that portion.
