PVC Support or No?

If you have your pump hard plumbed vibrations from it will go into those pipes. If you add a short run of silicone tubing from the pump to the PVC you'll make it quieter and have the flexibility to curve it to meet the PVC.

Well this is in regards to ALL the plumbing. Not just return. I appreciate the suggestion (though I’m already aware of it). I’ve done soft plumbing in the past. I wanted to try completely hard plumbed. Vibrations are not a guarantee. But none of that has anything to do with the clamp/support problem.

Love the look, but there’s not enough space between the pipe and the surface to mound it to for that clamp to fit.

I ended up just shortening some of the pipe runs and used the Red Sea mounts that came with the tank. Amazingly enough they fit U.S. sizes as well!
