So, I was wondering if there was some type of vent cap that would allow a verticle PVC tube to sit flat on the bottom of my sump, resting it's weight, without blocking the actual waterflow. I could always drill holes into the side of the tube but I came across this and kind of like it. It even has a built in screen. I'm thinking of using it in my manifold to avoid any stray algae from my turf scrubber from getting into my reactors or fluidized bed. I would likely remove the glued in screen and have one that sandwiches between the two PVC pieces so that the screen could actually be pulled out and cleaned more easily. My only concern is that the gap between the outer tube and the inner tube might be too thin and could act as a reducer. Any thoughts?

The caps for larger pvc diameters are flat. Most of the smaller diameters are rounded. I think at 2” is when they go flat.

All the sizes of this product are flat. I'm just looking for something that can rest on the bottom without hampering waterflow and possibly hold a filter. My main concern is the space between the outer cap and inner tube is small enough to restrict flow.
