Looking to put one in my 60 cube but not sure which one. I know that they aren't 100% reef safe that they may or may not nip. So what I wanted to know is if you've had one which one was it and what did it pick at or of it didn't pick at all.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, even two of the same species will have different behavior. Over the years I've had two flame angels (both collected in HI) and one only nipped at SPS polyps, while the other nipped at SPS, LPS, and polyps. I've also had a lemonpeel angel that nipped solely at LPS.

I have owned allot of Pygmy Cherub Angelfish (Centropyge argi) over the years and they have never been a issue. I know they are considered one of the more reef friendly angelfish. They are super hardy.

Any pigmy angel can become a problem though and they can be very hard to catch if they do.

Thanks for the info guys, what are your opinions on the flameback I've heard those are also more reef friendly

I had a pair of C. argi in my SPS tank, and it was a disaster. If you like polyp extension on SPS don't add them.

Before I get started, people need to remember there is some risk introducing any fish to your tank, as the profiles are generalities and no fish is guaranteed to behave like the norm.

I have a coral beauty angel, the only with caution fish I have. I have never witnessed it nip at any of my corals but I can tell you it can be one mean sob. It particularly likes to fight my black and white clowns, but my yellow tang is the enforcer of my tank and does keep the coral beauty in check. I do feed my tank two times a day, and hang a veggie sheet two times a week. This heavy feeding schedule may help to aid in my angel not bothering my coral, or it may be the fish. I used to keep cichlids, and I learned that well fed fish are well behaved fish so I apply the same theory to my marine tanks.

I also had a coral beauty (just recently passed after almost 6 years with me) and he nipped at corals in spurts. I gave him away, he came back more coral friendly, then I never saw him nip again.

I've got a bi-color angel now that is a nipper, but I think it is because she gets crowded out during the feeding frenzy.

I have a pygmy and recently noticed some chunks missing out of my dragonsoul favia. So it just goes to show any angel is hit or miss.
