Pyramid butterfly fish

Any one plz say pyramid butterfly will nip Clam or not also plz advise me is the pyramid butterfly reef safe.

Reef safe with the exception of Xenia. That's been my experience with a few Pyramids.

IMO, butterflies are pretty reef safe except clams. They will chow down on clams.

I've had pyramids with clams, however they may nip. As badguy said, they WILL eat xenia.

There are a few threads on these fish .... both here and on RC. Search is your friend. I've kept groups and never had issues with clams.

In case the op did not know, there are the Black Zoster Pyramids and the Yellow Pyramids. I personally prefer the black but they are both the same fish with the same habits.

I have had specimens eat aiptasia, but I wouldn't count on it.

in my dictionary no butterfly is 100% reefsafe.

I've had 10 or so and 3 of them ate aiptasia, majanos and blue clove polyps. All ate xenia. None ate GSP.

I have two black zosters and recently adding a yellow pyramid, my only survivor out of an order of 3 from liveaquaria (will not be using them again unless it's divers den). He is being picked on pretty badly by one of the larger zosters and is forced to stay in the corner of the tank otherwise he gets chased. Has anyone successfully had zosters and pyramids together and is this behavior normal? The pyramid is quite a bit smaller than the zosters.
