Hi everyone,

I am wondering whether or not i should be worried about this snail that I found on my new maxima clam that I bought from Unique Corals? I have observed the past few nights and it doesn't really go near the mantle, it kind of just walks around on the shell. Plus it was moving during the day and I am pretty sure pyramid snails are nocturnal. I have dealt with and beat pyramid snails before with a derasa i got from ORA thru liveaquaria, but this snail looks different since it has a pattern on its shell and whatnot...can anyone id it?

Thanks

That's good news if it is... I'm going to do more research anyways since I really love this clam

Thanks!

+1 cerith.
Welcome to r2r !
Thanks for the reply! I am beginning to worry less as the snail does not seem to go up towards the mantle at all, although it is still on the clam's shell...

I have a cerith that hangs out on one of my derasas, and has done so since it found the clam. It more than likely is not leaving as there is enough food on the shell to sustain its appetite lol.
