I’m a long time Python syphon user and have always had one issue. When cleaning ditritus from the tank it never fails that I pick up a small rock, shell, coralline algae ect and it gets stuck at the actual syphon that attaches to the faucet. It requires getting off the ladder, running back to the faucet, reverse flow and then start again. I’m wondering if anyone has ever had this issue and if so did any kind of modification to solve the issue? Personally if they came out with a larger diameter hose and syphon it would probably solve the issue.

I don't get that deep into the gunk at the bottom to pick up stuff like that but why not just try a larger hose? Anything will work, it doesn't have to be marketed towards fish tanks

Yeah I know but I like the way it creates suction from the faucet and goes right to sink. I know I can just syphon to sink. Just curious if there is a simple mod.

You can buy a mesh sheet off amazon or maybe hobby lobby, cut it to fit inside the business end of the python to control what size junk makes it to the sink. if it gets clogged with rock, just shut off the flow with the valve, shake it clean then continue on.
