How do you get the remaining water out of this long hose when you are done pumping water?

I leave it attached to the faucet, put it on drain. Then I hold the vacuum end high up in the air and slowly coil the hose as I walk towards the sink.
^^ Yes. This exactly.^^

For a short while, like above suggests I did try to 'roll' it up while holding it elevated to promote drainage and stick into a large tote inside for storage. That got old fast since it wasn't truly "DRY". It would be damp inside tote and then tote would smell musty.

SO, I let my hose live outside. Now the majority drains out (and down driveway into ally (and ally drain conveniently located near end of our driveway minimizing saltwater in yard)). I put the siphon part back on when I'm using it and that is the only part that stays inside.

I have to add my 2 cents.
Roll it up and let gravity drain it back to the sink.
Having said that, someone mentioned that it doesn't make it dry inside the hose.
Over the years I have had to run bleach water through the hose and let it sit inside for an hour or so, because it does tend to discolor ( mold?), because it's not completely dry. Then I just flush it out at the sink.

I use mine regularly and was a blessing for filling my recent 400g. I coil the hose when done and as you walk the hose , drain it towards the pump and line will be empty.
