QQ1 HOB skimmer help

I set up this new QQ1 skimmer couple hours ago. The bubbles only push not even half way up the cub neck. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? Do I leave it for couple days? Also should the cup be all way down or all the way up when first starting up trying get bubbles to go up the neck and into the cup.

Regardless of what skimmer you get your going to want to break it in first, where a slimecoat of organics build up on the skimmer neck which usually takes a couple days. Also if there are no organics in the system then this process will not occur
