QT a jawfish

Hello I need some help with a jaw fish most likely a yellow head that I will QT before entering DT. I have never QT before so it’ll be my first. Right now I have a 10g set up with heater misc pvc pipes a plastic little home, hang on back filter and an air stone. Also have the seacham ammonia notifier and some ammonia remover just in case. What kind of meds should I get? Should I put alittle sand in there? Maybe some crushed coral and some shells I have? Thanks for all advice. Dustin

This is a good list of meds to keep on hand but it sounds like you've got a pretty good quarantine setup already

some ammonia remover just in case.

Be careful about using "ammonia remover" like Prime with copper. It creates a lethal condition in the tank.

An "air stone" is good, but a powerhead, aimed up toward the surface, rippling the surface, creates substantially higher O2 exchange. A very small one would be great in a 10 gal QT. You will also need a cover for the tank. Your best bet is some type of screen, or mesh. I have had a jawfish jump right through eggcrate in the past.

Ok that’s a good idea I have an extra hydor but it’s 850gph. Could go pick a smaller one up pretty cheap.
