So for any of you that use Sponge Filters in your QT, do you throw the sponge away after treating with copper or do you place it back into your sump/display to keep it seeded? I'm not sure if there is a way to wash the sponge to remove all the copper or what is the best/safest course of action. Let me know what you do, thanks!

Toss it. They are cheap

So do you put a new one to seed in your sump when you take one out to put in your QT, or do you use bottled bacteria or something?

I keep one in my overflow box.
It is a bit large
I have 2 peppermint shrimp that live on it
