ok I know about QT with fish and I am going to do that because I currently have my tank in fallow. But can I add soft coral frags to my tank while it's in fallow without a separate QT coral tank ? Really not sure why I would need to QT a frag.

So long as you leave the tank fallow for 72 days starting by when you add something new. Coral can have things like ich on them that aren't killed by dips.

You're kidding! Even corals carry ich? What if it's in a fishless t system at the store?

Ick, or ich, affects fish, it lives in all fish, corals and inverts do not get ich

ICH Tomonts attach themselves to hard surfaces like frag plugs, rocks and stoney coral structure. Hence the 76 day QT.

At this rate it will take years to get everything in my tank! Or I get another tank for corals. But it's hard to find the ones I want all together. I guess I would need a special light to keep the corals in QT too?
