Qt cycling getting dirty

Been cycling my 8 gal nuvo bare bottom for about a month now and there is some sort or algae building up on the pvc I have in there idk if it is diatoms or what but is this normal

Yeah, no worries. I use a cut-off piece of poly filter pad like a sponge and wipe of the pvc, walls, bottom, etc. Usually clean it once a week during water changes for the fish.

If it's a quarintine tank, leave lights off to prevent algae from growing. There really is no need to run lights unless your viewing what's in there.

After it cycles or during the cycle I haven't done a water change yet was waiting for it to cycle to do one

I do leave the lights off only turn it in once in a while to see if anything weird is going on
