Hello,

I am still on the research phase (going on several years now) and have transitioned to the QT/dip study. I have read Humblefish's how to set up a quarantine tank many many times and was wondering if there was such a guide for corals; and a tried and true method for dipping and (or) QT?

I found just a couple suggestions in the forums but most used abbreviations and inexact procedures. (sans amounts, time etc) Is there a detailed guide on how to dip and QT corals out there that is comprehensive and idiot proof? (for well...an idiot ;Shamefullyembarrased ) I found theCoral Dip Guide sticky on the propagation forum but this is just general list of all options. I didn't think I needed to do all of it.

*Would be most interested in soft and lps, if there was not such a thing as a comprehensive guide for all corals.

Thanks!

I had. This is the Coral Dip Guide sticky referenced in the original post.

I was looking for a tried and true method for dipping/QT corals with step by step procedures more so than just a list of all dips available. But thanks for making sure I did see this.

I guessed you probably had, was making sure.

yeah I was looking for the same, came across this and like you felt it was not what I needed.

I ended up on YouTube.

Yeah, through keeping freshwater tanks I know that there is a lot of misinformation out there on youtube. Even through extensive research on reef tanks, I already notice some bad information out there on youtube. I was hoping experienced reefers would way in...but maybe I will just have to use youtube unfortunately.

"New coral? Protect your tank from pests." BRSTv
I found this video to be helpful in learning how to physically dip the corals. I hope this will help since I think it may be what you were looking for.

Humble fish also has a forum on his site for how to QT corals where you can look at other user's questions and see if they've been answered. You can also ask there and see if someone can link you to a more helpful explanation!
