I have about ten fishs in mt DT, but 6/10 has sign of ich. I plan to build a QT asap which i haven’t done it before. What should I do to cycle my Qt asap with seeded sponge. Plan to have Qt tomorrow night. Can I dose cooper to 1.75 ppm right away and dump my fish in ???

I started my QT with Fritz TurboZyme and some substrate (MarinePure); you can dose to 1.75 but I'd get there over a few days and test daily to make sure that you're in the right range. I swear by the Hanna (? high range) copper tester. Humblefish has a QT guide that I would look at in the fish diseases section.

Good luck!

Ya, i need to get all my fish out but kind of a hard mission for me. I will set up a QT tonight and try to bring cooper to 1.75 ppm. Can I put my fish after 2 days my Qt has been set up??? I have seeded sponge

These links may be helpful, also 2.0 ppm is now recommended for copper. @HotRocks I noticed the first link I referenced below still says 1.75 but the second link has been updated

This is exactly what I was going to post. I’d start them around 1.0PPM unless you’re dealing with velvet (numerous spots and small).

Biospira is another great product for starting the cycle for quarantine.

....I run a air driven Hydrosponge in my pod/algae tank for just qt tanks or you can place a appropriate size sponge filter in your sump and leave it .... not much help for now but fwiw maybe for the next time

I wouldn’t dose to 1.75-2.0 BEFORE adding the fish. Just keep it around 1.0 until all the fish have been moved over, and then slowly bring it the rest of the way.

is 2.0 for the copper the minimum therapeutic range? if so should I be around 2.25 so I have a little wiggle room

I think 1.75 would be considered the min. I wouldn't go over 2.0.
