So I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this but I’m going to ask it anyway so that I’m not putting the fish through any unnecessary harm.

So these will be the first fish I get for my new tank. Looking at 2 clownfish from cultivated reef. I told them I was quarantining them and they said this “Also you should know that these fish are coming to you completely quarantined. We get the direct from the breeder and hold them in clean tanks that do not share water with any of the other systems or wild fish etc.”

So I planned to QT (copper power and metro to start) but I want to make sure that’s still the right thing to do? Other options would be to just observe them in a non medicated QT or don’t believe that any fish is coming to me fully quarantined and start them on a standard medicated QT procedure.

Appreciate your input!

I don't think its bad to do an extra QT. You could do some other QT medication that the previous QT didn't use

If you mostly trust that they did a proper QT, just observe for 30-40 days before they go in the display.

If by some chance, something slips past their QT system, they aren't the ones that have to tear apart your tank, remove the fish, and then run your brand new aquarium without fish for the next 2 1/2 months while whatever they had dies off.

Never bad to QT :) If you believe what they say, you could just observe them in your QT for a month

Thanks everyone. It’s a tough call cause I wanna see what they look like but afraid to gamble. I was going to use the two tank method so it looks like they’ll be in some form of qt for 30 days anyway.

Sorry but the only QT you can truly trust is your own.
