Just setup a much larger system and transferred the few small fish I had over as well as corals and inverts. Looking to add some more fish to the new tank however I do not have a QT tank (more on that later).

Is there an online store you recommend that QT the fish before shipping? I know the LFS doesn’t and I don’t want to bring unwelcome pests into the new tank.

Here are my thoughts on the QT not sure if this would work? Thinking of getting a cheap 10g setup and use the water from existing display when I do a water change. Thought is maybe this will allow me to not have to cycle the QT tank and then I will have one going that I can use. Would this work?

Quarantined Fish has fish that are fully quarantined before shipping. I haven't ordered from them yet but they're a new sponsor here and they go through the whole QT process.

I'm still a pretty new reefer, but my understanding is water doesn't contain beneficial bacteria. You'd need rock or filter media from your display tank to have bacteria in the QT.

Tsmaquatics and marinecollectors both pre-quarantine fish. I just placed my first order with tsm. My fish will be ready in a few weeks so we'll see how it goes.

Isn't Dr. Reef the same as Quarantined Fish? I think that's the name of his business...

In regards to setting up your own quarantine: yes a 10 gallon with water from your display will work fine. Put a sponge in your sump and let it seed that with beneficial bacteria for at least 2 weeks and you will be good to go.

Dr. Reef (Mike) is the only person I will ever buy fish from. He’s the only vendor that actually quarantines the fish he sells. He puts a lot of effort into it and it’s worth every penny.

Yes I did not know the name of his business
It is Dr. Reef (Mike) and business name is www.quarantinedfish.us

I cant promote my own business so there are also few other vendors out there.
If you want info about my operations and reviews check out the website and search for reviews.

I just got 2 fish from TSM, they arrived about 10 days ago. No issues so far. Very healthy and active right away.
