QT for acros

Planning on setting up a QT tank but curious how I am going to achieve this for acros given they need mature systems.

My plan
I have Gen 4 radion for light,
I have a hang on back CRV refugium/skimmer.
I have some established liverock but not like it covered with sponges

Should I add fish. ?
Should I run it just like a display tank?

I want to keep the tank completely clean on rock (I will add the Rock in the HOB fuge)

I'm thinking let it run 1 month then throw some montis to test. But I want a Qt that acros will be good indefinitely

Any tips and tricks would be appreciated

Acros do not necessarily need 'mature systems'. (for example - look at the frag systems at LFS). Second there is no standard definition of what a 'mature system' is.

Realize also - that normally - a QT tank is cleaned and restarted each time you use it. This avoids the possibiiity that pathogens on one batch of coral that may be able to remain in the QT - are not spread to new healthy coral when you add them.

I would not add fish - since this can then add fish pathogens to your QT tank

The good news about a coral QT tank - is that since you're not really feeding it - you normally don't have big problems with nutrients, ammonia, etc.

I'm thinking about keeping this system on at all times. If I catch a pathogen I can just leave it alone for few months without corals. The tank will be free of any rock or sand, experience has shown me that it's unlikely that the pest will be in the Rock or sand in the HOB filter or survive long without a host.

1. ATI hybrid led/t5 combo
2.40g coast to coast aquarium
3.RS75 sump with skimmer
4. Australian live rock
5.Sephora and seachem matrix from matured tank
6.Marine pure balls from matured system
7. Dosing BIO S every day 1.5 drops
8.6 damsels and pair of clowns
