I see lots of discussion on QT for fish and dripping for corals but...

What about CUC, how do you QT CUC? A crab or an urchin or a trochus?

Inverts aren't carriers for fish effecting pathogens. Plus they can't be medicated so I'm not sure what benefit a QT period would make.

No Qt for an invert or CUC but you can put them in a separate tank and observe for a little. But also realize they need to clean to eat so a fresh tank is not the ideal place for them.

inverts can have a encrusted ich cyst on it though. If you want a zero chance to ever have ich in your tank anything wet is supposed to be in a fishless system for 76-90 days

Incorrect. Inverts can and have introduced fish disseases to DT's. They can also spread invasive algaes that can come in on snail shells. Starfish and urchins can just be rinsed but the rest need a 45-76 day QT to make sure to not spread disease but also give you a chance to eliminate any invasive algae or anemones that may have not been visible to the eye on day one. Here is more info:

Also, if a shrimp or crab molts he's good to go.

Where does the 90 day figure come from? 45 days will do it in most cases but there was a study where it took 76 days so that's the figure that's given to err on the side of caution.

I always just went by how long to leave a tank fallow for, which is the 76-90 days.

always been told it's 76 and up to 90 to be 100% sure the parasite it gone
Sounds like a made up figure. I'm not aware of any study showing anything living that long. If you do find out lmk.

Can confirm. The only reasonable explanation for where my recent velvet outbreak came from is some snails I purchased. Everything was fine for months, 1.5 weeks after the snails were introduced, 5 fatalities in days.

Since they only carry, not host parasites, I would recommend QT for at least the length of a life cycle.
