To add to this, slowly increase copper as someI've done both with and without a bowl of sand for pink and blue spotted gobies. As a matter of fact the blue is almost ready to come out of qt in about 5 days. Yea! A small pyrex type bowl with about an inch of sand would be fine. Just be mindful that when dosing the copper, it may take a bit more copper because the sand will absorb some of the copper you are dosing. So test frequently to make sure you have reached the therapeutic level of copper and that it stays there. Toss out the sand when done with the qt. Happy New Year!

Yes sir. I will be doing this very slowly. It will be my first time using copper. I have been afraid to try it but I have lost 3 fish in qt this month. I figure if they are dying on me anyway then I might as well see if I can get them through this. Thanks again. To add to this, slowly increase copper as some
gobies are quite sensitive to it.
Will do.Post some pics when you get it please. Recently saw one at the lfs. Gorgeous fish!
The issue with this is that nearly every fish these days comes with ich, vekvet, flukes, or brook. You’ll likely not see it on a goby, but your other fish will show it once the goby is added to the DTI have been told more than once not to QT gobies and blennies. I don't, but I realize several people do. I have been lucky so far.
2 weeks cupramine only works if you move the fish to an entirely new sterile qt after 14 days. Otherwise, you need a full 30 days.QT everything! 4-6 weeks no matter what.1st week observation,2 rounds of Prazi,2 weeks of Cupramine and observation for one more week.
Yes, so true. Especially on my Starry Blenny. But he went through the QT process like a champ. As matter of fact, I think he got fatter! LOLYou’ll likely not see it on a goby

Welcome to R2R! Great tip. Happy New Year!I’ve successfully QT’ed a pink spotted, diamond, and starry blemmy using the TTM method and prazi. As other have suggested, I would recommend a small tray of sand. I would also recommend getting a 3” PVC pipe cap and drill or cut a hole in the side of the cap large enough for the fish to use it as an entrance. Place the cap it in the sand and the fish will use it like a cave to hide when spooked or at night to sleep in. Worked great for me, and I think it reduced the stress for the Fish. My diamond goby would bury the door every evening to secure itself inside the cap. It still does this in the DT under it’s favorite rock ever night before the light go out.
BTW: If you plan to pair the pink spotted goby with a pistol shrimp, I recommend adding the goby to the DT fist and let it get settled in and setup with a favorite hideout. Once you know where the goby is burrow is you can add the shrimp by using a PVC pipe. Hold the pipe at the entrance of the gobie’s hide and the other end above the water line. Gently put the shrimp in the pipe and it will come out at the entrance and likely find the goby quicker. I did this in my 170 and they connected right away.
Best of luck!
