Lost my puffer to brook. The disjardini tang had a ton of white spots like the puffer did and he died too along with my goby and blenny. I’ve got my two clowns and butterfly in the hospital qt since 1/8 and they have no signs of anything anymore. They had some white spots.

Currently have copper power at 1.37 and plan to raise to 1.75 or 2.

I need to do a water change as the ammonia badge is on .05, but my extra heater won’t be here until tonight. My other worry is trying to match the copper with the tank when I change water. If I add more water instead of a change, will it reduce the ammonia?

Matching the copper when you do a water change is not too bad. I use a 5 gallon bucket. Approx 1.18 ml per gallon equal 2.0 ppm copper. If you have the Hanna Checker it’s pretty simple. Regarding the ammonia- .05 is an alert and you have a day or two to get it under control. Reading some of humblefish new posts it looks like you can use Prime with copper power to get you ammonia lower. I would just research this- it should really help you

Perfect. I’ll do the water change later. I don’t see any stress yet.

Oh also in a pinch to heat water I put the premixed saltwater in a 5 gallon bucket, then fill a 1 gallon ziplock bag with heated fresh water. Then swap the sealed hot water out for new hot water when it cools down. Not super efficient but in a pinch I have done this. I have normally done 2-3 gallons with this method before I had multiple extra heaters.
