I'm setting up a QT for my corals and need a light. The light needs to keep the coral alive for 80 days, it doesn't have to be as good as my DT. The "Tank" will be shallow, possibly a 10 gallon tank but more likely a Tupperware in order to facilitate daily water changes. Ideal solution would be a LED bulb that I can put in a goose-neck or cheap reflector.

Any suggestions on bulbs? I currently use spillover from my DT light, but its not idea. Would like to move the QT further from the DT.

What type of corals? Light recommendations are going to be different for soft coral, LPS, and SPS.

And, how much are you willing to spend?

These are softies. Would like a cheap light, but I understand that may not work. Have reefbreede photon 2 on my dt.

You could pick up a par 30 LED from amazon for $25 if you have a clip on light or swing arm lamp to put it in. That's what I'd suggest.

Was just searching them. Found a kingbo and an abi. Anyone have experience with on of these?

I feel a bit silly. I have a abi lamp on my sump growing algae. I'm happy with it. Gking to get the abi.
