In the last 45 days I have lost 5 of the 8 fish I have purchased. The first few were lost in my copper tank so I switched to TTM on the next order. Now I loose one with every transfer. I am so tired and sick of spending money and loosing fish. I think I am going to focuse on ick management. I have met so many people that have NEVER done QT that have beautiful successful tanks with few to no losses. I of course matched temps and salinity perfectly.

Did you notice any symptoms of disease, physical or behavioral, before the fish died? Are you keeping tabs on ammonia? Are all these fish coming from the same source?

The day before the this transfer I noticed white spot like growths on the fins of the last diseased fish. But other than that he was swimming and eating fine. The others showed no signs at all. No Ammonia issues at all. First 2 that died came from a LFS and the last 3 came from liveauaria.

Did you take a photo of this? It sounds like Lymphocystis but also might have been a fast killing bacterial infection. Neither copper or TTM treats bacterial diseases.

No i did not actually, any recommendations for the other fish I have left in QT and for the future. Also what all could I have done?

Another option that's a good compromise between treating immediately and ich management is to QT but just observe for the first couple days and see if there is anything you need to treat for. Some people will QT just to observe for a few weeks and if nothing pops up they introduce them to the tank. This may be a good option for you.

Most qt deaths are due to ammonia. Do you have a seachem ammonia badge?

Also many will use prime or amquel with copper and that will kill fish also. Do not use these products in conjunction with medication.

TTM deaths are also often the result of ammonia, they need a large enclosure and in this case prime is your best friend.

Yep, I use seachem ammonia badges along with testing and didn't mix any of the meds.
