so i know the safe play is to QT every single thing, but has anyone had disease issues when ordering directly from ORA? Seems they take their facility pretty serious.

obviously this question doesn't apply if it's an ORA fish, but sent to a lfs where it sits in their tanks. I'm just wondering if it's worth the time and effort to QT something shipped directly from the ORA facility

I've ordered ORA fish for my store, I've had some come in with flukes and once with velvet. However I have ordered ora fish a lot (mostly just clowns) and they rarely come in showing symptoms of anything. That is the problem though; fish from anywhere rarely come in with obvious symptoms of ich or whatever disease

interesting, i had seen people say they got diseased fish from other captive bred places, but seemed like those were places like biota that had to go through the wholesale system. i figured ORA was the exception, but apparently not. that's a bummer

sadly I don't think there is a company out there who anyone can say that their fish have no diseases with 100 percent certainty

There is a place that you specify what type of fish you want he will go pick out the healthiest specimen he will take it do the full quarantine then ship it to you. But it will cost you. Marine collectors is the name

yeah i'm familiar with that, but i was planning on QTing my own fish. the problem being i just want 3 damsels and i'm too cheap to pay shipping so i gotta get to the $149 threshold. therefore i was gonna add a couple ORA fish and just plop those in a tank of their own since i was hoping they'd be guaranteed to be disease free, but alas, apparently not. i guess i'll load up on some corals or something

plus i sent that marine collectors guy an email and he didn't even respond, so if i'm paying a QT premium for fish, i'm going with humblefish
