Hi, I've set up a coral QT that is gravity fed with water from the display and drains from the QT through a filter sock into the sump. QT is 2'x2'x1' and is lit by a AI prime HD. Aim of course is to prevent transfer of pests and their eggs to the display while implementing a series of dips in Reef Primer.
I know a stand alone system would be the ideal but the sock pores being smaller than the pests should pull them up.
What are your views please guys?

Ah good to know. Will be no problem to turn into a stand alone system. Could even leave it as is and be a frag tank instead.

Would a UV unit on the outflow of the QT do the job if oversized and maintained?
Still a risk there I guess.
Only bugs I'm worried about are AEFW, red and black bugs, monti eating nudis.
