QT. Pond?

Hello,

I have a few quick questions. I have a 40 gallon black pond with pumps a filters. Would that work as a QT/hospital tank? I have a outbreak of ich and need to get my fish out of the DT asap. I also have been using earthminded rain barrels to make and hold RODI water. I noticed the barrels say they are not food grade is this safe? Could this have caused my problems?

The pond should work since it is temporary. I would just make sure to rinse everything in a vinegar bath, if you can. Rain barrels that are not listed as food safe/grade may leech unwanted contaminants overtime.
