Hi all,

I have just added a yellow eye kole tang and an orchid dottyback to my 18g QT. Both fish look healthy with the exception of some fin damage on the orchid.

I was planning on waiting a week before medicating so I can dose prime if any spikes occur. After that if alls well I'm planning to do 2 prazi doses followed by 30 days of CP. Anything else I should consider? I have kana/metro but wasn't planning to use unless the dottybacks fins don't heal up.

Also i'm a little confused on the length of the second prazi dose, is it necessary to leave the second dose for 7 days or can I remove after 48 hours and begin CP?

Thanks

Nick

The Praziquantel dissipates in about 2 days but the medicine is still working through the fish doing it's work. So that 5-7 days is for observation: checking poop quality and color. Sometimes it is necessary to dose again depending on the results.

You are welcome. Remember the other medication within General Cure is metronidazole. It needs a bit longer to do its work on the internal parasites. Thus the 5-7 day period. Cheers.
