QT - quarantining and acclimating anemones - best practices

What are "Best Practice" acclimation and quarantine techniques and protocols for newly acquired anemones?

I acclimate mine, same as inverts, but never qt.

Anemones do not tolerate meds. Best way to acclimate them is drip acclimation. They dont have a hard surface where eggs or tromphants or even vermetid snails can attach so there really isnt a huge need to qt anemones. But a good practice ive heard about is kind of getting the old tank water out of it so none of the tank water coming fro. Where you bought them gets ino your tank. But ypu have to be very gentle.

Just gently kind of push on the oral disc it should slowly spew out water

Well qting a nem is always needed when other nems are in the system and if one has a bacterial infection it can spread it to the rest also slower drip for shipped nems and a quicker drip can be done on LFS nems always test ph in the water of a shipped nem and keep testing it until it matches your tank water same with salinity and temp but ph is very important and can take a bit of time. Surge acclimation is very stressful I would not recommend and if nem added to tank shows signs on gaping mouth a day or 2 after acclimation I would remove for antibiotic treatment. Just some things I do and look out for

I also acclimate my BTA very slow, with drip line for around 3 hours where I take water out from time to time till the container was full with my tank water. She is very happy as you can see, a bit to happy coz she move a lot and sting my sps. [emoji5]
