QT Questions

If I don't use any medications or none of the fish in my QT are sick can I just use the same wheel in the marine land filter and just replace the cartridge?

I assume you are talking about replacing a brand new bio-wheel with a "cycled" one (i.e. one that has been down in your sump for at least a month). That is fine so long as the cycled one fits i.e. is the same size.

Oh, and how strong of a heater would you need for a 15 gallon QT?
I use a 100W on my 10 gal QTs and it works fine; but that same heater can struggle to maintain temp if used on a 20 gal when the AC is blowing. So, you might wanna get a 150W for good measure. That works better on my 20 gal QT.

Thank you!!!
The only reason I asked the first questions is because I don't plan on using medications on the fish unless they are sick. I am not going to us medications on every fish that goes through the qt.

Is this stand to small? The tank hangs over one edge probably 1/10 of an inch. P.S. I will put a rubber mat under it to keep it from sliding.

I might put a peice of plywood unser the tank that is a little bigger then the stands shelf so that that little bit of tank doesn't hang over the side.
