I just picked up two 20L and I want to make QT tanks. What would be the best easiest way to success? FYI never had a QT tank before.

Hang on the back filter
Heater
PVC Pipe as a visual block maybe a cheap LED for light

If I use it for a QT tank for my corals later on I’ll take a kessil off my DT for the first corals once my fish are established in the tank.

Hang on back filters are the way to go. I use oversized Aquaclear HOB's (use one rated for 70 or 110 gallons on my 20L and 29 QT's). I keep sponge filters and Biomax ceramic media in my sump to use in the HOB for biofilter. PVC ells or T fittings (size dependent on the size of fish being quarantined). No rock or sand.

I'm fortunate enough to have a "fish room" and keep two QT's set up and running at all times. One I use for copper or chloriquine phosphate treatment and the other I use for post treatment observation. If you keep the sponges/ceramic media in your sump you can set up on the fly with little fear of ammonia issues.
