I have a 125g tank and am currently purchasing equipment I have deemed necessary for my chosen setup and goals before I get my tank going.
My question:
I already have an idea on what I am going to get for my display tank lighting (likely Radeon Pro's), but I still have to find lighting for my refugium and quarantine tank. My refugium will be bottomless and be home to my chaeto as well as copepods and amphipods (maybe some crabs/shrimp... Not sure yet). My QT's main purpose will be to introduce all new specimens (both fish and corals) as well as a hospital tank when needed.
It would be a little ridiculous to buy Radeon Pro's for my refugium and QT (I think we can all agree on that). The purpose of my refugium light will be to provide the necessary PAR and PUR/spectrum and intensity values to optimize the nitrate/nitrite metabolic efficiency of the chateo. My QT simply needs to provide an optimal PAR and PUR/spectrum and intensity to keep both fish and corals alive (not necessarily to make corals grow fast, just enough to keep them alive while I treat/quarantine them).
It goes without saying that for both my refugium and QT lights that I am looking for something that is cheap enough that it is considered relatively affordable, yet not too cheap where the PAR/PUR/spectrum and intensity levels are too low or high and wont help my achieve my desired goals.
