Is it a good idea to treat all newly purchased fish for ich in a qt before introducing them to the dt?

It is an awesome idea to QT all fish before placing them in the DT. I like to QT for 6-8 weeks for most fish. It is not just about ich. There are other diseases and parasites to be concerned about. It also helps you to ensure the fish is eating and to be able to observe the fish.

So should I treat them anyways if I don't see any signs of diseases?

My dt is a 40 breeder. And my qt is a 10 gallon with just a hob filter, heater, air stone and some PVC for the fish to hide in
