qt tank

I don't believe in medicating just for the sake of medicating. I give all my fish two rounds of prazi pro and then just observe. some people will treat for ich believing that all fish carry it. if I had a tang I would probably treat for ich. I wouldn't add any other meds unless I actually see signs of something.

Good advice ^above^ and do similar, Prazi-Pro followed by hypo-salinity treatment SOP. Tangs or signs of any Ich then onto a full Cupramine (copper) treatment. There is fine line in using QT systems to weed out parasite possibilities as you don't want to overly stress new fish in a to small, to bright and busy without any hiding areas tank nor do you want to put them in a to large and to comfortable of accommodations in hope of seeing something that may be wrong. So without some type of treatment during this QT process it is not fully effective.

Cheers, Todd

I don't know about others but I have a HT that has been running for ever with low amount of cupramine (0.25ppm) and I have a QT running as well without meds.
I would put in HT for week than QT it for another 3-4 weeks. That's just me
Corals I dip and into the qt
Inverts just into the qt but anemones, I dip them too
