Okay I have a 10 gallon tank from petco and a HOB filter and a screen top. What is the best way to make a screen top fit this tank with the filter? Do I cut it around the filter to make it fit? Or are there covers that would work better with the Hob filters?

if you want it aesthetically pleasing you can build a new screen top around the HOB, or just cut out want you need to make it fit. Could also take plexi and cut around the HOB also then cut out in the middle to place screen material, just cheap ideas.

For QT tanks I use egg crate that is used for light fixtures like this.

It is easy to cut with a pair of pliers. It is practical, but not beautiful. It is $16/sheet at the Home Depot near me. But if you already have some kind of screen you can (and want to) cut, then I'd start with that.

I have a screen top from petco, Guess will try to cut that to fit. Not caring if it looks good or not. Not a display tank
