QT to DT or vice versa - do temp or drip acclimation needed?

When transferring between QT to DT or DT to QT on fish and corals and assuming temp and salt are near equal (not a perfect .1 level match let say) can we skip the temp or drip acclimation, any harm or its always safe to do one or both of these. Consider other water parameters like NH4, NO3m PO4, Alk and PH may vary on QT.

Are decision different when doing it for treating fish or coral

When temp and salinity match between DT and QT I have always just moved the fish/corals. I never drip acclimate anymore. Anything I buy goes into QT with levels that match the source. Then over days I match parameters to the DT. When they are the same I continue quarantine and/or treatment. When that process is finished, and move live stock to DT. No Drip or floating. I just add. Never had a loss moving anything that way. I have lost fish to disease and I have loss fish to treatment (copper mostly) but not once to moving in this fashion.

If your temp, salinity, & nitrates are good then I transfer. I usually make my display a degree or 2 warmer.

I do 1 or 2 big water changes on the QT with DT water before moving stuff over. QTs are typically small 10-20g, so doing two 50% water changes isn’t that hard and basically serves to acclimate them while they are still relatively comfortable in the QT tank vs stressed in a bucket.
