Hi! This is my first post onR2R! I have a tank raised ocellaris clown that I have had for about 8 years. Also have a boy that is 8 years old. Boy wanted some tank mates for Nemo so got 2 Tank raised Kauderns cardinals from DD. At same time got a flame hawk from LA. Quarantined for 8 weeks in a 10g cube with sponge filter and a hob filter. Had a 16 gallon DT all in one with Life Rock and Nemo.
After 8 weeks put cardinals and hawk into DT. In March bought African Flameback angel and neon dottyback from DIvers Direct. Had one week of Qt left when my DT had a catastrophic failure. There was a crack in the right side of the tank and water was leaking rapidly! This was on May 14 2018! How do I know the date exactly? ........... It was our anniversary!...... BTW- Important concept here- this tank was on the second floor. My wife came home and called me at work and said water was coming from the ceiling and down the wall of our living room. (The wall is stained wood and the floor is black walnut hardwood). So my wife was bailing h2o out of the tank and I asked her where the fish were. She said they were all in one inch of water and were dying! I told here to scoop them up and put them in the QT which was 4 feet away. So after that long story my questions are:

1- All of my fish are from DIvers Den but the Flame Hawk. I am finding white stringy poop on the floor of the Qt. Do I need to de-worm all with treated food?
2- was thinking of prazipro tx but all look healthy-no white dots or flashing. Last new fish was end of March. Am I in the clear for ich and Velvet?

Have a custom 30g tank coming sometime over next month! The fish are all co-existing well in the 10 g Qt. Btw- the Qt has a pirate ship and mountain which privide great hiding places for the fish(don’t forget I have an 8 year old). JRAD

1. Yes, treat all with treated food.

2. Prazi pro will treat external worms such as flukes, it won't treat other parasites such as Ich or velvet. You are only ich or velvet clear if all tank inhabitants (fish, inverts, macroalga etc) were adequately treated and quarantined before they were added to your tank, regardless of where or when you purchased them.

Good luck and sorry you had this disaster. I also have recieved a call from my wife saying water is flowing out of the ceiling, it's not fun.

Thx- what is best way to de-worm? I have metroplex and focus. Seems hard to know how much of a dose the fish are getting when mixing with food. I have some metronidazole laced food pellets(I think it is called Hex shield.). Problem with that is my cardinals won’t eat pellet foods.(kind of odd because they are tank raised!). Can prazi-pro be mixed with food?

Mix metro and focus with thawed frozen food such as mysis or whatever all your fish will eat.

If you want to add praziquantel to the mix, use API general cure instead of the metroplex.

Feed the mix slowly making sure all the fish get some. Dont worry too much about dosage, just make sure they all get some.

Thx! Saw thread from Humblefish that recommended 1 measure metro with one measure focus per tablespoon of frozen or pellet food. I have decided to take your advice and treat my QT with copper (I have Seachem cupramine) and just ordered a Hanna high level copper calorimeter for safe dosing! Do you think it is safe to dose copper while de-worming or should I wait?
