I started a 10g Qt tank which has been cycling and is probably about 1 to2 weeks to go.
How many fish could be qt at a time in this size tank ?
In my mind I think 1

A lot of people don't even worry about cycle in qt tank if they are dosing copper. They just do large daily water change. Completely depends on size and type of fish. I wouldn't put more than one tang in but you could probably keep a dozen small clowns long enough for qt.

Depends on what fish, pair of small clowns would probably be ok, or a couple small gobies. But only 1 tang, or larger/messy fish. What's your stock plan? If you list what all you plan to add and what size display tank you have, people can help you stage the fish

I have a biocube 32 so no tangs in my future . As far as a stocking plan thinking 2 Banggiai cardinal ,2 clownfish , and possible 1 more but that is something I may or may not do . If I did add a5th fish it would be a royal gramma . I will be adding the clownfish last no matter what i do . I would want to start with the cardinals . @LBehr I want to cycle as sometimes I have to work long days and may not be able to do daily water changes .

I think you'll be fine with 2 cardinals, then 2 clowns. I'd recommend adding some sponges to your display to build up bacteria. With each new batch of fish you should break down and sanitize the quarantine system. Having some sponges with bacteria will help you cycle the qt each time

Also I've had luck with start smart establishing cycle in 24 hrs. There are a lot of products that say they do but I know that startsmart works. There is a guy who sells it locally here otherwise I've found it on empireaquatics.com
