Hello all just a quick question about quarantine. How long is a quarantine last getting four fish coming from the same person and do I need to add bacteria into the tank quarantine tank or just plain salt water

I didn't read the linked article...might be mentioned there...but you definitely want to have filtration on the QT tank and make sure it has cycled. You can use bottled ammonia and bacteria products like Dr. Tim's One and Only, Instant Ocean Bio Spira, etc. to do a "fishless" cycle of the system.
As for quarantine time...opinions / methodologies vary widely. I do at least 4-5 weeks in QT with prophylactic treatment of PraziPro (2 rounds) and chloroquine phosphate these days...assuming all else looks good and they're eating fine.

I just have a 10g with water, heater, and HoB that have been running for 5-7 days now. Can i pre treat water with various meds b4 I put them in the water? I just put some bacteria additive in there, will post a pick when I get back home

I would just make sure the tank is cycled and stable. I add large pieces of PVC pipe for fish to hide in so they feel safe. I prefer to add the fish first and assess how they're eating / behaving / looking for the first few days before using any meds.
