QTin' Multiple fishes

I'm still testing with the Regal tang. Plus I'm not sure how the wrasse's will do either.

This is why I've treated with the minimal dose.

We'll see what happens.

It was about this time when the Regal started having trouble last time. If it happens again on 40mg, I'll be a firm believer that Regals don't tolerate CP. 4 days in now and nobody is acting weird yet. We'll see.

So far so good with CP at 40mg. The Regal and PBT's are doing great and tolerating well. I'm 7 days in now with no issues at all. By this time, the 80+ mg CP had the blue not eating. If course I can't be absolutely positive it wasn't velvet, but it sure leaned in the direction of a CP reaction.

I did have 2 deaths. Not due to any adverse reactions or parasites though. Both the wrasse's were getting beat up by the PBT's. I have a powder blue and brown tang that are super aggressive in this batch. They killed both my wrasse's within a week. They got my small yellow coris wrasse first, and then my large Melanarus wrasse.

Other than that, everything else is perfect. No signs of rubbing, spots, flashing, etc...I'll take a video when I get off work this morning. Check back here by 8am.

Its good to hear from you that all are well and as I said you will surely succeed. Right now I am also running an QT with 5 red fire pink anthias and a lavender tang in Copper. But mine is other way round within two days all the anthias killed the lavender tang. Since my QT is in my other house which is 100mts from the house where my DT is and hence I was not able to watch them the whole day and I missed it. Rest all of them are doing great so far (touch wood) and I am completing my 30 days by this weekend.

Wow, you're ahead of me. I'm ready to get my batch in the DT!

Sorry to hear about the bad luck. That's the way it goes sometimes. You learn with each session.

Here's my Update video:

True that. I'm lazy but will separate them next time. Had I known they would have died from the PBT's abuse, I would have tried this time.

FWIW; there have been mixed anecdotal experiences using CP on wrasses. In some instances, they die after (roughly) 7-10 days in CP. Like Hippo Tangs.

Yeah I saw that. Thanks for the heads up. I don't think this was the case because they never showed any reaction to the CP. They ate like pigs literally and never acted strange at all. They were getting beat up pretty bad though. Constantly getting chased and nipped. I would like to try one more with same dose and separate him from all other fish to be sure.

Chloroquine Phosphate

Pronounced (klor' oh kwin)

It's an immunosuppressant and anti-parasite drug. AKA....worst nightmare for Marine Velvet. ;-)
