We made a mistake about a year and half ago and we didn't dip an ORA valida tri-color multiple times.

As most of you know AEFW love valida. We've kept them under control but that's not good enough anymore. The numbers have grown and we know have more Acropora (Thanks Diesel)

. I want to eradicate them. I want to take all the acropora off the rocks and out of the DT. I will have LPS, zoas, palys, chalices, montipora, setosa, birdsnest, lepto, acans, favia, and stylos in the DT. I want to starve them out of the DT and dip all the SPS.

I know the ideal thing to do is a separate QT tank. I have a 10 gallon, a reefbreeders value LED fixture, (not the greatest but will do), a hob filter, a pump for flow and a small heater. So the set up is not a problem, the another tank syndrome is.

But will this work......put the effected acros in a section of the sump that is divided by baffles and filter sponges? There are no rocks just bare bottom. Keep them out of the DT for 6 weeks and dipping every 5 days or whatever is prescribed?

*****separate question*******

There were acros right by the infected ones that were not even touched, why?

Still 5 days later, nothing.

I just found out this does not work on AEFW.

Update*******

Diesel to the rescue, again.

Ben has provided some information about plumbing a frag tank into the DT. He is lending me a frag tank, light and wavemaker. Most of the corals in my son's tank are from the Diesel tank.

But best of all he is providing expertise and guidance.

Won't plumbing a frag tank into your display do nothing for you? The point of a QT is that is a completely separate system. I'm not understanding how this is a solution

I think there is enough space and stops (baffles with sponges in between) besides dipping every 5 days for 30 days and letting the rocks go without sps for 10 weeks.

Thank you Andre.

It was a pleasure to meet you and your family. I hope to be in a position to buy from you in the future.

Your welcome!

Sure, you know my collection and I always frag on demand.
In case you need anything to test small SPS to see if the tank is clean, let me know and I get you a few smaller sticks in case of total loss of some species.

Good luck my friend!

I've got pods that make it through both of those and if pods can do it then tiny flatworms will be able to

Thank you. I may just take you up on that offer.

THE MARSH COMMUNITY IS FANTASTIC.
