Ok so I've been advised to QT the CUC i'll be getting in the next couple weeks. My questions are, my tank will be cycled before then.. do I feed the DT ammonium chloride every couple of days to keep the bacteria fed? And what should I feed the CUC while they are in QT as there will be no forms of natural algae available in there..?

CUC plans
Various snails
Hermits
Emerald Crab
Cleaner Shrimp

Are you qt the cuc because they are coming from a tank with a known problem or just as a precaution. If it is just as a precaution I would inspect them real well and those without any visible problems I would put straight into the tank, except nassarius snails. That way you build up the bacteria. Just wait another 6+ weeks to add anything else. Which if you are properly qting the new additions should not be a problem.

I like to monitor them in a separate tank for a little while because they hide under the sand. It means that if your new snails are unhealthy they may all die under the sand bed and you never know. Depending on the tank size and amount of snails this can create problems. This is just my personal way of doing things.
