Hello, I just started my nitro cycle in my first ever aquarium (75G)! I have a Trigger 30 Sump and was wondering when I should start my refugium. Should I wait until my cycle is complete and what is the best way to start a new refugium? Same question for the quarantine tank...should I start that soon or can I just use some of the water from my completed nitro cycle in my QT? I was thinking about getting one of those Coralvue Biocubes or Innovative Marine Nuvo's for my QT....better way to slice the pie? Thanks in advance.

Love this forum....great info and support!

I would wait until after your cycle to add your macro algae to the fuge. If you add it now, it's going to start sucking up the nutrients that the bacteria in your system is going to try to consume to do your cycle. You can use water from your display tank for the qt once the main display is cycled, but it may still through a mini cycle in your qt :) Hope this helps

Yes, it answers my questions and makes sense too. Thanks!
