Quaility or quantity?

Ok so I was hoping one of the local sellers would be a lot lower and I would be able to get more of the ones I chose but now with the price I cant even get half. I asked to see if he did single heads and he said no. I only have a 150 budget and that's for a month and a half =/ in my mind the staple 3 I would get no matter were the speckled crack, queen strat, and pink diamond. Now I dont think I could even do that honestly was hoping to get like 6 of them. Would you say screw the speckled krak and get more of a variety, or would you buy the one you like the most and is worth the most and only end up with 2-3? He had a list of like 50 and these were the ones I asked the price.

Pink Diamonds, Rainbow Infusion, Oompa Loompas, and gatoraids are little bit overpriced. The speckled kraks are a pretty good price for 2 polyps. I would do the UC, Queen Strat, Sunny D, and Scrambled Eggs first.

I would stay away from the speckled kraks all together. They are known melters. Just not worth it. Pink diamonds are just purple monster zoas morphed in high light. I would get the purple monsters from someone locally. Sunny d’s infusions, utter chaos, and scrambled eggs are all great zoas though

The strats are a good pride though. I don’t have hands on experience with them though as a i prefer brighter zoas

Not gonna lie, you can get sunny d’s for much cheaper. I got mine at $30 for 6 polyps

i agree u can get sunny Ds cheaper. I would go with speckled kraks once u do get a little bit of money saved up tho. they are just such beautiful zoas and still quite popular. Yes they are known melters but from my experience and some of my friends experience that some zoas seem to melt under lower nitrates and low nutrient system. i’ve had ck soul suckers, hallucinations, predators, and speckled kraks melt when i had a lower nutrient system but after upping it to around 15-25ppm my new ck soul suckers and speckled kraks never melt and is actually growing at a pretty decent rate.

Really? The pictures I see look so bright. Is there another blue one that would be a better choice?

Ewe the melting seems scary those things look awesome though and if I could get it to grow I could easily trade for other zoas. There are a lot of people near me that sell zoas just not as many in one place or as many higher quaility.

As a 2 month tank the melting thing scares me I still get things in the tank that I have no idea what they are lol. I have 3 zoas though that seem to be doing great atm.

Good to know purple monsters are 1 of the 3 I already have too.

I got 6 oompa loompas for $20 on black friday and sunny d at a frag swap for 5 polyps for like $20 geez

I would probably find someone else to buy off.

Agree. I ended. I got a five polyp utter chaos for $20 on a deal of buy two get one free. More like 13 a frag.

I bought at my LFS a frag of Sunny D´s (1p) and another of Utter chaos (1p) for $10 each. I guess you always pay a premium (and taxes) when buying at a LFS. Anyway, one month later both are sprouting new heads.

Eeeee. 3 months. I would wait on the kraks for around the 1 year mark. My tank is 1.5 years old and I’m yet to attempt them in this tank. Sure you might get away with it but your budget is tight and I’d hate to see your entire budget tied up in one frag to have it melt on you. That would be pretty discouraging.

Go with more of the cheaper zoas first, some good ones to start out with include Rastas, scrambled eggs, fruit loops, wwc twizzlers, purple monster, red hornet, blue hornet, sunny D, bam bams, utter chaos, rainbow hornet, vampires, gatoraids and people eaters. These are all in the 5-10PP range and pretty colorful

Get some purple monsters. They’re easy to find around $15pp and you can get them for $5pp if you shop around. Mine are VERY fast growers and is everyone’s favorite. First pic is may second pic is September.

Eh, not always, I paid about $90 for 4 heads of Speckled Kraks last month at my LFS. They always have very competitive prices though.

I ended up getting from a different person. Though he didnt give me what he said.. I still think I did ok. I got 2 utter chaos heads, 2 god of war heads, not sure what the other 2 small heads are I just liked them. No idea what this pink thing is or the big colony( he was suppose to give a frag of rainbow incinerators, instead I got those 2 lol) and a huge frog spawn head that's splitting for 100. It would have been better if I actually got the rainbow but still.
